Serious games, built with game craft

For more than fifteen years we've applied what we know from making games — engagement, feedback, performance on real hardware — to help people learn: teachers, students, lab technicians and professionals.

Earlier work

Projects from our first years, when serious games were still a new idea for most of our clients.

NC BioNetwork — virtual biotech labs

For NC BioNetwork, the life-science training arm of the North Carolina Community College System, we built 3D virtual lab modules that walk students through equipment and procedures — such as centrifugation, from rotor components to pre-run safety checks — with an on-screen guide, Professor Maxwell. We also built a sterile gowning procedure trainer and Future Factory (2010), an educational time-management game for the BioNetwork BioEd Center.

Raytheon — ATCOTS training simulator

A training simulator for Raytheon's ATCOTS program, built on our in-house Nymph engine, with simulated radar displays and an instructor panel for tracking each trainee's sessions and scores.

IBM — INN0V8

Working with CenterLine Productions, we built INN0V8 for IBM: a 3D virtual business world that gave students a hands-on look at business process management (BPM) and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
